The airport is 25km from the city centre of Ljubljana.
Currency
The currency is the Tolar. Currency may be exchanged at Banks or Exchange offices. All major Credit cards are generally accepted. 1 Slovenian tolar equals 100 Stotins.
Electricity
Voltage is 220 AC 50 Hz. Use round 2-pin plugs.
Health
The standard of Slovenian health care is predominantly high. All foreigners are entitled to emergency medical aid. A sign on the oor at any pharmacy will tell you the nearest 24hr service.
Telephones
International telephone calls can be made via an operator. Calls may be made from public phone booths which are card or token operated. Cards may be purchased from Post offices and most news-stands.
Tipping
Tip the staff in bars, restaurants, etc. It is customary to leave 10-15%
Visa
A visa is not required for a period of up to three months for Australian passport holders.
Slovenia

Ljubljana
The capital of Slovenia with its 268,000 inhabitants is ranked among the smaller European capitals. It is a city of the Baroque, and also the work of architect Joze Plecnik. Among the Baroque monuments such as the Cathedral Franciscan, St James', and The Holy Trinity, there are also masterpieces of the Venietian sculptor Francesco Robba, the foundtain of Carniolian rivers placed in the centre of Mestitrg in fron of the Town Hall.
Bled
Bled is the most popular holiday resort in Slovenia, for skiing in the winter, and playing golf on an 18-hole course in the summer. At the centre of Lake Bled lies an island with a Baroque church. On a 100-metre high cliff overlooking the lake stands a castle with a museum, restaurant, and above all, a marvellous view.
Kranjska Gora
At 810 metres high, Kranjska Gora is one of the best known tourist centres in the Slovenian Alps, and a lively winter sport centre. One of the features of Kranska Gora includes a chairlift to Vitranc.
Mojstrana
Mojstrana is 641 metres high, and one of the favourite mountaineering excursions to Triglav (2864 metres) Slovenia's highest peak.
